The Governor’s Home

Governor Tina Kotek recently sold the home she owned with her wife, Aimee, in North Portland, for $585,000. They bought the 3 bedroom, 2 bath home for $240,000 in 2005.

Built in 1951, it has mid-century charm, with lots of windows and hardwood floors. There’s a big, bright living room and kitchen. The main floor also has 3 bedrooms and a nicely-remodeled bathroom.

The finished basement has a huge den and another bathroom, and out back is a big yard with a covered patio.

Governor Kotek sold the house because she and her wife moved into Mahonia Hall, the official governor’s residence in Salem. Previous governors have kept their personal homes while in office. But Governor Kotek has a reputation for being frugal, and it seems smart to sell the home and let someone else enjoy it full time.

The home was listed by Erica Dagle at Portland’s Alternative Realtors.
